Haven’t updated for YEARS!!!!

So, here I am, have come back from my awesome Europe grad trip, still thinking of Switzerland occasionally and have gone through 1 month in a school experience that was really an eye-opener. Have also gone through 2 months of training in NIE, completed near a dozen assignments and looking forward to the next dozen :S

Nothing much has changed, duh duh still loves me, I still love him, I still love my family and friends, and I still love Shamrock (:

But it’s really busy and taxing in NIE, and I can only imagine schools being worse. But I must hang in there because the people at NIE have been really helpful, have a bunch of super fun colleagues and most of the profs are really nice. They are the ones responsible for my change from initially apprehensive in English to currently enjoying the CS very much (: also, being able to hang out with duh duh here and there in school has definitely made NIE a lot more bearable (:

End of year is coming up, I really look forward to an overseas trip, still in the midst of deciding; wanna get a comp at home, an ipod (though my nano is still functioning reasonably well) and a digital cam! Lol all these are just wants la, I guess what I really need is for the people whom I love to be well and happy (:

::Find your voice and inspire others to theirs::

The title spells of a quote which I found particularly inspirational having attended a training session called ‘Project Classroom’ by an ex-principal. It was the main theme in Stephen Covey’s “The 8th Habit”. While I don’t suscribe to such motivational readings myself, it’s good that I’m exposed to them once in a while. It’s especially meaningful when just a few days ago, I wondered to myself if I have made the correct decision. Of course, these 2 days of training were just very brief glimpses of what lies ahead in the following 4 years, yet I can safely say that she has inspired me to find my voice. I confess that I look for a job in earnest back then so that I can be financially independent, so that I can stop leeching off my parents. While I didn’t mind doing something, it didn’t mean that I have a passion in doing it. I still do not know whether I have the passion, but at least I have learnt to look at the future with an open mind. So while there is no definite answer to the question of “Is this job suitable for me?”, at least I came to conclude that “You can only know if you do your best in it”. So yup, looking forward (:

2 weeks have passed since the last time I blogged. Happenings and happenings…

Other than being irritated occasionally by some organizations and people, it’s been great slacking off :P Played mahjong with my dearests at Qin’s place, and celebrated Mei’s birthday for her (: Her birthday ‘cake’ was actually a platter of nice little dessert cakes of various flavours! Such an ingenious concept (:
[Someone still owes us the photos :P]

And the Reds are playing the Little Red Dots in National Stadium (yes, they haven’t torn it down yet) on 26th July. Eager to get the KOP seats, I woke up quite early on Friday to queue up for the tickets. Talk about Singaporeans not wanting to be seen as kiasu people. The queue only started forming when someone took the brave step to be the 1st one in queue, even though a lot of people were already loitering around the deserted Courts at 8am :P Managed to get the tickets to the KOP (wayang name for the east stands), and so on the 26th July, we’ll be off with our red Liverpool scarves and waving our Singapore flags :P

4 tickets for the Kop stands!

Had dinner at Tao’s to celebrate my Dad’s birthday as well as my parents’ 25th wedding anniversary :D great food, great company and great love! I love my family to bits!! <3 heh and before that, we went to watch Angels&Demons. It’s either you love it or you hate it. Having read the book, I was a little disappointed that the book was not faithfully followed through. Yet at the same time, having forgotten some of the stuff in the book, I had the opportunity to treat it as an action-packed thriller of Hollywood style. AND OF COURSE, EWAN MCGREGOR SIMPLY MADE MY DAY!! I was already looking forward to the movie when I heard that he was being casted as the Camerlengo because the character was my favourite in the book. And seeing one of my favourite actors taking on the role was simply ZOMGish :P yay so of course I enjoyed the movie very much, even though at the end of it, he immolated himself =( I wouldn’t mind watching the movie again though ;)

Yesterday night was quite an emotional high for sports fans. First, Button of Brawn fame won his 5th title out of the 6 races in the F1 competition. Not like it was very exciting la.. But it was a good time killer for the EPL final match to start at 11pm. For Liverpool, it was a grand send-off for the great Finn Sami Hyypia. So long and thanks for all that you’ve given to the team (: For Newcastle, it was a fight to stay afloat. They didn’t succeed and so they are going down. I can’t imagine the emotions of Shearer who took over managing his beloved club and see it go like that =( and Hull, despite losing the match to a forgettable Man U (huh you mean they played last night?), managed to stay up! Sigh, I guess one can only blame themselves for not working hard enough the entire season.. Hope to see you back in the EPL again, Newcastle (:

As for the much-anticipated trip, I looked at the list of things to be done and packed. So many things to be packed, yet my luggage seemed too small to contain everything. Blahs, it’s time to show off my compressing skills lohz :P looking at the list of places to visit for the trip, I grew very very much excited ;) all the nice foods and sceneries!! *woootz* I think I’ll miss my family during this period though :P at least Shamrock would be embarking on this trip with me and Qin (: Looking forward!!

It’s been about a week since the exams ended. But from the last time I blogged, so damn many things have happened around the world and hogging the headlines.

First, there was the eruption of the Swine Flu scare, which by now, I hope have already stabilized in Europe. It got so near to jeapordizing my grad trip, I seriously hope it’ll just lose momentum and not cause any more trouble =.=

Then there’s the whole Aware saga, which culminated with an extraordinary general meeting with a showdown of words (very bitter ones at that) and the stepping down of the “new” exco. Glad that it has come to an end, and I think the bottomline is religion should not be dragged into a civil society and remember that this is an all-encompassing society (:

Latest thing to hog the headlines is the capture of Mas Selamat. Hoho, finally, after so long of running, the sneaky cunning fugitive has been caught! Way to go!! Haha now, we have to look tight and not let him run off again. Give him a chance? NOT IN A MILLION YEARS!

Been slacking quite a bit since the end of exams :P other than being annoyed here and there by my future employer, I’m enjoying post-exams life so so much (: looking forward to meeting up with people and the TRIP!!! (:
